Lonely Planet Accessible Travel

Accessible Travel

Our collection of free resources is designed to help you experience the joy and benefits of travel, no matter your access needs or disability.

Our Accessible Travel Online Resources is the world’s largest collection of online resources for accessible travel, endorsed by UNWTO, and features country-by-country information from national and local governments and tourism bodies. There is an extensive list of specialist accessible travel agents and tour operators in many countries; links to the world’s accessible travel bloggers, plus profiles of the top 10; special assistance pages for the world’s busiest airports and airlines; and more besides.

The Accessible Travel Phrasebook features about 100 disability-related words and phrases in 35 languages, from Arabic to Vietnamese.

Our growing collection of destination guides was put together using first-hand experiences of people with disability or using verified information from accredited access auditors. Copies of Accessible Rio de Janeiro were given to all athletes competing in the 2016 Paralympics and will soon be joined by Accessible Tokyo, which will also be given to each competing athlete in the upcoming 2020 Paralympics.
