Warehouse update: We are up and running!
Our warehouse has made the decision to move to an emergency Social Distance Operating (SDO) model. Long term this new model will ensure that valued staff will be able to continue in their jobs in an environment that puts their health and safety first.
What this means is that we are shipping out print orders, but it might take the reduced warehouse crew 1-3 days to get it out the door. From there, we'd ask you to be mindful of restrictions that might be impacting carrier services across Europe manage the current situation as best they can.
We will provide updates here as the situation changes. In the meantime, be careful and be kind.

Sustainability: What it means to us and what we are doing
At Lonely Planet, we believe travel can be a force for good – but we need to do our bit as a company too. We’ve always taken our responsibility seriously; after all, travel can only be as good as the world we explore. We’re aware of our impact on the environment and society, both as a business and as individuals.
The Forest Stewardship Council is the world's most trusted sustainable forest management solution. The FSC™ certification guarantees that the paper used in our books is from responsibly managed forests. As of June 2019, 100% of our printed titles were certified FSC™.
For single book orders, we use cardboard envelopes that are made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste paperboard printed with eco-friendly vegetable/water based inks. They can be 100% recycled. For larger orders, we use 100% recycled cardboard boxes, shredded cardboard as packing material so the books don't move around in transit (to minimise waste, we make that packing material ourselves from discarded boxes), and the tape we use to secure the parcels is paper-based.

Here's a rather crafty alternative to single-use wrapping paper - wrap your gift in a map! Lightweight, durable and easy to re-fold, our maps are 95mm × 197mm (24.5 x 19.5 inches) and will wrap even the biggest of our titles! Standard gift tape peels right off, and the map can be refolded and ready for use on its next adventure.
