Vancouver - Shopping (Chapter)
This is the Shopping chapter from Lonely Planet's Vancouver guidebook.
It's well worth buying an extra suitcase and hitting Vancouver’s stores - just be sure not to limit yourself to the malls and explore a little off the beaten path in shopping hot spots like Gastown, South Main (SoMa) and Kitsilano. There's really no excuse for buying boring souvenirs at all.
- stroll Downtown’s outdoor mall for high fashion, shoes and jewelry - and plenty of coffee shops if you need to stop and count your money
- pick up oddball Japanese candies and cans of Pocari Sweat along the western end of Robson St
- window shop your way through the high-end designer boutiques of Yaletown’s evocative old brick warehouses
- execute your souvenir shopping obligations on Gastown’s main thoroughfares before ducking down the side streets and alternative walkways for hip designer stores
Coverage includes: Downtown, West End, Yaletown, Gastown, Chinatown, South Main (Soma), Commercial Drive, Granville Island, Fairview & South Granville and Kitsilano.
