Rafael Wlodarski
Born in Poland, raised in Melbourne, and currently living somewhere between San Francisco, London and Tanzania, Rafael feels at home pretty much anywhere his luggage is unpacked.
Endowed early on with a hankerin' to travel and explore the world, he first completed degrees in business marketing and post-grad psychology research, vowed never to use either of them, and quickly set off on a six-month around-the-world trip. Eight years and three passports later and he has yet to come home.
Rafael spent most of his twenties dragging his luggage overland through the Middle-East, Southeast Asia, the Indian Sub-continent, North & South America and Europe. During his travels he discovered a fondness for the dustier, more far-flung corners of the globe and developed the lofty goal of trying to taste each of this earth's wonderful creatures. Armed with more travel tales than either friends or family could handle, Rafael's foray into travel writing seemed like an obvious progression in an otherwise uncharted career path.
Rafael has written travel articles for newspapers, magazines and books. When he's not off on Lonely Planet gigs, Rafael contributes to travel advice column .
